I haven't seen it but after watching the video review of Freddy Got Fingered, and the image of a newborn baby being swung around by the umbilical cord being engraved into my head, I MUST SEE THIS MOVIE!!! I haven't laughed this hard since The Naked Gun!

Although make no mistake, I'm scared of resembling Tom Green in any way.

Was that the Oancitizen review?

"Iron Sky", from Finland, Germany and Australia

When the Fins from Finland and the Germans from Germany and the Aussies from Australia get together to make a movie, we can expect nothing less than, "Iron Sky".

Flying saucers are not such a silly idea as you might think as they are based on the idea of excentric rotary motion. And that is where we get the shape of the flying saucer - it's all based on physics.

I did though get a little worried when the Americans started talking about bombing Australia, but it all comes right in the end.

At present: The Thick of It.

It's British television show, from the creator of America's Veep and the film In the Loop (which features many of the same characters). Cynical, but incredibly funny political workplace satire. Unfortunately it isn't available on DVD in America, but if you have a region free DVD player, the entire series so far is available for about 20 US dollars (including shipping!) on Amazon UK.

I saw Dark Shadows. It was Tim Burton's most disappointing movie since...Alice in Wonderland.

It seems Burton has lost the artistic and quirky edge that made me love such films as, well, of course, Batman and its first sequel, Edward Scissorhands, Ed Wood, Mars Attacks!, (hilarious movie, IMO), and Sleepy Hollow. Now it feels like he's trying to milk his own visual style and cinematic trademarks (which literally felt like they said "TM" at the upper right hand corner) for every penny they're worth

Sure, the film is nice to look at -- the production, costume, and makeup design is very lush and the cinematography looks very painterly -- but I found it generally to be a bore, and the overall themes could've easily been printed on a Hot Topic t-shirt. And Danny Elfman's score was surprisingly boring -- he seemed to be self-plagiarizing his far superior Gothic score from The Wolfman.

I think that Burton has fallen into a creative coma -- I think he should part ways with Johnny Depp for a while.

Like everyone and their mother, I saw The Avengers yesterday with my family. It was excellent in several aspects. :)
