watched moneyball last night, I'm not into sports but it was really good. and watched top chef, jersey shore, parks and recreation and 30 rock. and Roseanne on netflix. lol this is how I spend my time.
Moneyball is such a good movie, like Chana said. It's in vain, but I strongly recommend it to anyone who is interested in the subject of new ideas and the difficulty of implementing them in a system controlled by old thinking.
Everybody have fun tonight. Everybody Wang Chung tonight.
Reign Over Me. I'm still unsure what to think about it, though. Particularly:
* Adam Sandler as a dramatic actor (granted, here his character being immature and obnoxious is a plot point, but still...)
* Is Don Cheadle's character technically a Helpful Black Person(TM)?
* Does the 9/11 angle "cheapen" the story?
Amazing performance by Ryan Gosling. I was reminded of a young Marlon Brando. He is that good. In fact he’s so good, he sort of overshadows the movie, which tries (and largely succeeds) to be a very fine, meticulously observed portrayal of the absurd hope and crushing hopelessness of romantic relationships between broken people.
Unrelentingly bleak and cold, occasionally melodramatic and terminally self-indulgent but it has moments, slivers, of breath-taking perfection.
Few directors manage to transcend the art form in the way Iñárritu can at his best.
Lame. Although the tsunami scenes were cool.
The Adjustment Bureau
Lamer. What is up with Matt Damon lately? I’m beginning to think Ben Afflect was entirely responsible for GWH...
The Science of Sleep
I’ve been meaning to watch this Michael Gondry for a while. Very weird. I’m not sure if GGB’s character is supposed to be crazy or not. It only really makes sense if he is.
I don’t think I need say any more. Sometimes I hate my friends acquaintances.
Awesome and epic. Plus it has horses so you can’t really go wrong.
I haven’t seen this yet but am mad keen to do so.
