Arsenic and Old Lace(1944)-ridiculous but funny movie. the things that are said are absolutely absurd but are said with a straight face and that's what makes it awesome.

    Wall Street.

    One of my favorites.

A great parallel for boom era greed.

I'm watching Real Life: I don't trust my partner on MTV.

    It's so frustrating!

This one girl works full time and goes to school full time and her loser boyfriend just plays video games at home asking for money all the time and he takes girls out to dinner & a movie with her money and cheats on her!

    GRRRR!

    Default The Sung Mass

I've just attended a sung mass at the cathedral in Manuka.

The sung mass must be an almost perfect trance induction, perfected over two thousand years by the finest musicians and poets.

And as we slipped into the trance of the sung mass, our critical faculties, one by one, went peacefully to sleep until our disbelief was suspended and we entered into our imagination.

And at this point, like a good poem, the mass was being fully imagined by the whole congregation.

And at the deepest point, and given wholly over to our imaginations, magic occurs and there is no separation between the word and reality.

And at the deepest point of the mass, where we are completely suggestible, a suggestion is made by the priest. And the suggestion was, "Peace".

And slowly and gently we arise from the deepest point of peace, and start to move back into the world, refreshed and relaxed.

American History X - A movie I should have seen a long time ago. Strong movie, good story, good acting, good photography. Top movie.

Just watched Funny People. It was excellent. One of the best movies I've seen recently. I liked that it didn't hit too many "false notes."
