yesterday I watched:http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0109415/?ref_=sr_6 I think i may have seen this film years ago, but don't remember it. I liked it but then again huge fan of children of the corn haven't seen the remake yet.

today I'm watching http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1296899/?ref_=sr_1 It's an irish film, and I like it thus far. I'm sure there's a twist but haven't gotten there yet

Thank God for Boardwalk Empire being back.

And East Bound and Down is coming back for its 4th season this Sunday!

Also rewatched L.A. Noir last week. Very good flick.

I actually have a recommendation for you, @DiscoBiscuit.

Just finished watching Undefeated, a documentary about an inner-city football team in Tennessee that won the Oscar for Best Documentary last year. I have no clue what it was about this movie. It recycles virtually every possible trope that one associates with either feel-good sports films, or films you know of about educating the troubled youth in an inner city environment. But it's done so impeccably, so lovingly, that it had me in tears pretty much for the entire film.

"Inspiring" films are so often trite; let's call this one instead a love story, and a beautiful one at that. There should be more films that celebrate the unexpected decency of everyday people, and I'm glad this one received the recognition that this one did.

I saw Don Jon about a week ago and decided to watch (500) Days of Summer yesterday. The former is sort of the antithesis of the latter in that Tom, the main character from (500) Days of Summer, is a man whose concept of love was moulded by romantic Hollywood movies and the like while Jon, the main character from Don Jon, is a man whose concept of love is moulded by hardcore pornography. Tom yearns for "the one" while Jon yearns for bedding a '10'.

I enjoyed both movies although I think some people will probably find Don Jon offensive.
