Both can be viewed as problems, but only one is ever called out. The other is "just the way things are".
"We grow up thinking that beliefs are something to be proud of, but they're really nothing but opinions one refuses to reconsider. Beliefs are easy. The stronger your beliefs are, the less open you are to growth and wisdom, because "strength of belief" is only the intensity with which you resist questioning yourself. As soon as you are proud of a belief, as soon as you think it adds something to who you are, then you've made it a part of your ego."

I'm sure that whatever happens to her, as a consequence of what she did to Loras and Margery, she will desperately seek out help/true allies. And there will be no one to save her. Which will be a stark reminder of what she's done to people that she can't call on a single person to be by her side. She will likely call on Jaime to come help her, to save her. And, he, knee-deep in his own mission, one he was sent on by Cersei, in Dorne, which he's realizing was partly a ridiculous cause to take up, as his daughter is, in no way, being ill-treated, or held against her will, will respond exasperatedly at her summon, once again! Ignoring it and her. And she'll feel desperately alone.

In that way, it is interesting to see Cersei's own character arc (backwards).
I think one of her flaws is that she thinks she can control things she can't control. She assumes that with Tywin out of the picture, she holds the high hand, and she expects her family name to take up the slack. (It's like you said about the Lion identity.)

She would be wiser to remember Tywin's advice: "Any man who must say I am the king is no king." Tywin was a prick, but at least he was smart enough to realize that family names, crowns and titles alone aren't power.

It was a great ass attached to a very nicely built body. Don't judge the man for his personality; he can change his body, but not his soul.

What parallel universe are you living in? There's even a cute joint term for it, for ease of criticism. Why, it's like saying there's no such thing as peanut butter & jelly, salt & pepper, Sex & Violence, Siegfried & Roy.....wait a minute.....

From critiques about videogames, to tv, to movies, to what have you.....

“Pleasure to me is wonder—the unexplored, the unexpected, the thing that is hidden and the changeless thing that lurks behind superficial mutability. To trace the remote in the immediate; the eternal in the ephemeral; the past in the present; the infinite in the finite; these are to me the springs of delight and beauty.” ~ H.P. Lovecraft
