I just saw Gaspar Noé's "Enter the Void," and it was possibly the most tedious exercise in pretentiousness that I've ever had the misfortune of sitting through in my entire life. And I've seen "Fish Tank." Honestly, what the fuck is so spectacular about long, repetitive shots of fractals coupled with an insipid, overly-literal plot that seems to have been taken straight from the pages of "Freud for Dummies?"
If you want to simulate the experience in less time than it takes to actually watch the film, open up your Windows Media Player, run the fractal generator, stare for ten minutes, and then go masturbate to some mother-son incest porn. Actually, that'd probably be a better time.
Also, I just posted this exact rant on my FB. That's how much I hate this film (and the adulation it garnered with critics, who loved it for the same reasons they hated Sucker Punch. Doublethink much?) Comparing it to 2001: A Space Odyssey? My ass!
Has anyone else seen this tripe? What do you think?
