    Default British Comedy

Being a huge "fanboy" of British comedy...and well..anything British... i was hoping we could gather a collection here of suggested British comedy...including Stand-Up, Television and TV. So PLEASE post away!

(also accepting off topic British posts, just general suggestions of British entertainment!)

I got a bit burned out on British comedy a few years ago when a friend went overboard on me.

Some of it is quite funny, some isn't. I do like that it's usually more subtle than your average American race/sex/poop - based comedy. Top Gear was one of the funniest shows on TV.

My favourite British comedy shows (most are rather old that I used to watch as a kid):

    Fawlty Towers
    Blackadder
    Mr Bean
    Are You Being Served?
    Keeping up Appearances
    The Vicar of Dibley
    One Foot in the Grave
    Monty Python
    Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em
    'Allo 'Allo
    Absolutely Fabulous
    Top Gear
    Extras

they've gone through and through me, like wine through water, and altered the colour of my mind.

    - Obviously most Monty Python
    - A Bit of Fry & Laurie
    - Not the Nine o' Clock News
    - Fawlty Towers
    - Yes, Minister & Yes, Prime Minister
    - 'Allo 'Allo
    - The New Statesman
    - The Thin Blue Line
    - Blackadder
    - Black Books
    - The IT Crowd
    - Dylan Moran's standup

..Red Dwarf and Father Ted are okay but overrated in my opinion.

    Keeping Up Appearances
    Benny Hill
    Mr. Bean

I also keep meaning to check out Father Ted. It looks like The Vicar of Dibley on acid.
