Dr. Seuss books.
Also that book about a boy and his tree, where he fucking cuts it down to a stump, omg, what the hell even, lmao.

It's The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein. It's still one of my favorites even as an adult. :D

I was never a book person but The Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket managed to grab my attention.

"The Borrowers" comes to mind

My sister and I used to make little houses for them outside, and one day we looked in the little house and something had been in there and left little tiny turds. We thought it was the Borrowers, but alas it was mice. :)

"A Sail of Two Titties"

I always heard it as 'A Sale of Two Titties', but your version is much more interesting.

...

I actually was pretty captivated by Grate Expectations as a preteen.

Ah. That makes more sense.

I did have an odd visual with my interpretation...

I pretty much read everything growing up, from fairytale-esque things to historical fiction. There was definitely way more than this but I'm having trouble remembering it so deal with this pathetic list XD

The Very Hungry Caterpillar
The Clique series
The Teacher From The Black Lagoon
The Velveteen Rabbit
Katie Kazoo Switcheroo series
Shel Silverstein's poems
Dr Seuss books
Little Golden books (I loved how tiny they were, I still have The Nutcracker one somewhere)
Charlotte's Web
Amelia Bedelia
