Blast from my past <3 Mary Martin as Peter Pan. I used to watch this all the time as a kid. My VHS/DVD/OST are among my most prized possessions. :3 Cyril Richard was such a great Hook, and Mary's was phenomenal. Sondra Lee as Tiger Lily though? Priceless The following are a few of my fav excerpts.

I used to do that shadow-puppet thing all the time at night. LOL!

Oh god, I have to say that I HATED Dancer in the Dark. My friend and I fast forwarded through all the songs. Anytime we heard "sweep...sweep...sweep..." or something starting to sound rhythmic, it was time for the FF button, lol! Aside from that, the movie was well done, but HOLY CRAP, talk about depressing. Another friend said she was crying and puking at the end of it. I wasn't quite that bad, but I see where she was coming from!

I'm really not a huge fan of musicals, although there are a few that I like. This is probably my favorite musical number of all time, though:

Oh! Julie Andrews! How could I have forgotten?!

And can I just say that I <3 The Sound of Music? Unfortunately Youtube doesn't seem to have many clips from my favourite numbers that I can share without crap written all over them or bad sound quality. But 16 Going on 17, My Favourite Things, Something Good & Edelweiss spring to mind.

Hell, I think I'm gunna re-watch it right now.

^^Nice, I forgot about Victor/Victoria! That is a great movie. The Sound of Music has never been my favorite story, but the music is lovely!

Aw really? I thought the Sound of Music was such a touching story (unfortunately even if the movie does run a bit long/drag in places). Can I ask what you didn't like about it?

I don't know, it is a nice story. I guess there's nothing that I specifically don't like it, but it never really resonated with me for some reason.

To each their own. I didn't really like Jesus Christ Superstar, but everyone's on my back to give it another shot because 'it's just so epic'. =^_^= Different tastes I guess.

Yeah. It's been awhile since I watched Sound of Music; who knows, maybe I'd like it more if I saw it now.

"Fugue for Tinhorns (I Got a Horse Right Here)" as sung by Nicely-Nicely Johnson and two others, from Guys and Dolls.

EDIT: And twenty other things by Frank Loesser.
