Flatout. I don't play many racing games, and this one was frustratingly hard. Every time you skidded, you always wound up facing in the wrong direction. You could never just skid and recover.

I wasn't alone in this problem, it seems. My brother used to work with autistic children. They often fixate on things, and in one case it was racing games. He used to sit around and play them all day, so he was pretty good at them. Flatout out was the one game they had to take of them, because it drove him into hissing, feet stomping, scream, drooling fits of rage. I know exactly how he felt.

It's like the game designers are mocking us.

Oh God, I hated that fucking dog. Did you ever waste ammo trying to shoot the dog?

Same here! Fucking Super Macho Man.

Also, I used to play this crappy 90s computer game called TVS Basketball. The first three quarters would go great, and then in the fourth quarter your opponent became unbeatable. They would press with incredible effectiveness, hit three-pointers at will, and steal the ball any time a defender was close. You needed a 20-point lead entering the fourth quarter to have a good chance of winning. It made the game not very much fun.

Also, I hate any game where the programmers compensate for their lack of programming skill -- especially with regard to AI -- by making the computer opponent artificially lucky: great cards, fantastic die rolls, etc. It's cheap, and it's not fun. Play by your own rules. If they're stronger, be up front about it. Don't tell me these things are random if they're not. I hope your houses burn down, you pigfuckers! :steam:

Another game that provoked me into crushing it into millions of pieces? Ninja Gaiden 2... cheap all the way. This thread was inspired by the sheer craziness that is Ninja Gaiden 2. I can't describe it, it infuriated me to know end!!!!
