One of my favorite songs ever. And finally played live after 18 years. Skip to 1:20. Also, I NEED that jacket.

I usually don't care for Tiesto but I like the melody in that song.

For those who are interested in my musical tastes, check out my Last.fm account.

You have great taste.

My favorites:
Modest Mouse - I love all their albums but Parting of the Sensory has been pulling me in (aggressively) lately
Radiohead - Again I love it all but I really love The Bends
Ween - Whenever I'm in a funk Gene and Dean can bring me out of it :)
Leonard Cohen - Songs of Love and Hate is fantastic in the slit your wrists kind of way.
Portishead
Neutral Milk Hotel
PJ Harvey
The Mountain Goats
Chopin
The Pixies
Nine Inch Nails
Butthole Surfers
Tom Waites
I really like classical music, the darker and more intense the better.

Ween grew up about 45 minutes from me. I've always wanted my old frat to get Ween to headline the big party of the year. It would be outrageous. Good list of music there. Do you like Scriabin? How about Mahler? His compositions are usually very dramatic and dense.

OMG, a party involving WEEN would be absurd. In a great way. I've seen them in concert a few times and each time is just sensational. They start out normal but by the end they've had so much to drink that a 25 min. rendition of Poopship Destroyer is almost a given. They are the most hilarious band I can think of, at least to me.

I love both Scriabin and Mahler. I must say I like Scriabin more... I get lost in his music.

To me it's very difficult to find interesting improvised music which isn't too much influenced by jazz.

I'm fond of music in general. Comes with being a musician I think.

I will say that my favorite band is Pink Floyd, by a long shot.

Other than that, my mp3 player has, at any point in time, 60s/70s/80s Classic Rock, Blues, Jazz, 90s and Modern Alternative, Electronica, Trance, metal hybrids (like Mastodon), Stoner Metal, Hip-Hop (think MF Doom, not mainstream), some Classical, and world music.
