No, but I have seen some people who choose their musical tastes based mainly on demographic or ideological similarities between themselves and the musicians. Uber-feminist women seem to like Ani DiFranco, Fiona Apple, Regina Spektor, etc. disproportionately often. Not that there's anything wrong with those musicians; I happen to like all of them at least reasonably well...but sometimes I get the feeling that people who are really wrapped up in particular social causes (often ones that affect them personally) tend to get behind certain musicians much more for their social causes than for their actual work, and end up neglecting the music itself as a result.

I think that's kind of silly.
If you could be anything you want, I bet you'd be disappointed--am I right?

I love this new band, The Pains of Being Pure at Heart. What an amazing guitar solo in this song.

That Venetian Snares stuff is cool. Reminds me a lil of the Easy Star All-Stars, they did a sweet reggae tribute album to Pink Floyd.
