I've already made a thread about how I love older horror flicks, but I was wondering how many people like old 80's comedies and dramas...like John Hughes, of course, but going back even further to things like Valley Girl , Fast Times at Ridgemont High and this classic

Brazil
Adventures in Babysitting
Killer Klowns From Outer Space
The Lost Boys
Flatliners
Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure

That's a start.

Gawd, I think I've seen everything listed here so far.

Most of them have some appeal, even if they are as campy as all-get-out.

I remember liking:
Better Off Dead (and any other John Cusack movie from that time)
Sixteen Candles
Pretty in Pink
Flatliners
Repo Man
Toxic Avenger
Red Dawn
Brazil
Mystic Pizza
Fast Times
Sex, Lies, and Videotape
Mannequin
Buckaroo Bonzai
Big
Labyrinth
Dirty Dancing
Ghost
Commando
Predator

I only saw part of Surf Nazis Must Die, I left when one of them bit a chunk out of someone else's face... dumb.

I still watch Flatliners, Brazil, and Big.
On occasion I will even watch Red Dawn.

There are movies I really like, like Back to the Future, but I don't know whether to bring that one up here. When someone tossed in Brazil... well, I don't consider that an "awful" 80's movie in the same vein as Mannequin, for example. Same thing with Raising Arizona.. another definitive 80's pic but not "awful" despite the camp.

Again, that's a GOOD movie from the 80's... :)

I'm not sure what goes on this list.

Yeah, I missed the word "Awful".

Weird Science might make sense then.

And, along those lines, I would have to say these movies were actually good. I liked all three a lot.

Dirty Dancing
Ghost
Predator

This movie is not awful. Julia Roberts (hopelessly miscast) somehow ended up in it , but she's not in many scenes and is easy to ignore.

Satisfaction Trailer (1988)

And there isn't a torrent anywhere.

All the Police Academy sequels.

Hell, nearly every sequel in the 80s.

EDIT: awesome awful right? Like funny to watch and laugh at how cheesy they are?

Big Trouble in Little China.

Actually, I don't think it's even awful, as absurd and campy as it is, I think it's just awesome. But I won't hold my breath for the day a film critic calls it a masterpiece or a work of art.

And 'Willow'? haha.

We have the baby!

Gremlins, Ghostbusters, and especially Footloose were important films in my young life.
