Yes, movies like Saw and whatever like that are not interesting for me.

I bet you secretely want to scoop someones eyes out now!

Woah woah woah. Leave Saw out of this.

Saw is much more than gore. They are psychological thrillers.

Shame on you.

As for torture scenes, I cannot handle rape scenes. Oddly, one of my favorite movies has a 10-minute (ten full minutes, one unbroken shot) rape scene, but I think the fact that it's anal and not vaginal (thus making it more of a power thing and less of a power over women thing) is what makes it tolerable for me. And the movie is brilliant.

I have not watched a lot of really gruesome movies... not my thing. But you know what film scene really got to me? That scene near the beginning of the first Robocop film where Murphy gets shot up. The camera just lingered and lingered.

'Cause we're a violent society where we think killing and violence is going to solve all of our problems. I get queasy during torture scenes too.

I can't do rape scenes... I've left the theater during those before

I was disturbed enough with Mr Orange in Reservoir Dogs for goodness sake

And killing people is one thing, torturing them is another... I don't mind if someone gets killed onscreen... especially if it was done in a really cool way! I do mind if it's something drawn out though :(

I hate horror movies, but, if I see a torture scene in a drama or war movie, in which the victim dserved that treatment, I enjoy watching it.

I try not to let myself indulge in that kind of sadistic pleasure. I think it's no different from being pleased to watch it if someone didn't deserve it. Even though for some reason it's really satisfying. Again, Law Abiding Citizen is an example; I tried to tell myself 'nobody deserves that, not even after what he did'. It only sort of works.

Finally someone who shares my opinion! :D However, I find them equally repulsive.

it's ok... really... things involving teeth creep me out like nothing else... even scenes where people are at the dentists disturb me

which is weird because I LIKE to go to the dentist in real life, but I hate watching teeth on screen

So... you probably wouldn't enjoy that scene in Marathon Man, in which Dustin Hoffman is strapped to a dentist's chair and interrogated.

"IS IT SAFE?!?"

I dislike the torture porn movies as well.

Disgust is the lowest form of horror. Most of these movies aren't scary.

I prefer the horror movies that are more atmosphere/psychologically based... I liked the origional Amityville Horror better than the remake even because the atmosphere was better done

torture porn is just disgusting, not scary

Yeah, I prefer more ambiguous horror movies as well. If you show me something, it's not as scary as the unknown.
