Good music from my country?
Quite honestly, I can only think of one artist that I actually give a listen to every now and then.
I usually try to avoid artists from here. But then again, I'm pretty damn picky. So I'm going to put some up here, because I wouldn't know how others feel about these.

A solo artist who does nearly everything on his own, unknown and pretty much does music in his apartment. It's quite experimental and often has Nu metal elements. (The only Estonian artist whose releases I'm somewhat interested in.)

    YouTube - amoeba "HONEST ROBOT"

Then there's a local progressive death metal band, which consists of some of my friends.

And, I guess, I'm also giving an example of a more well-known artist from here. Suppose she's somewhere around pop, gothic/alternative rock.

YouTube - Kerli - Walking On Air

And then there's another well-known rock band. The guy on the piano was the conductor of the choir I used to be in.

@INTP: The other genres don't interest me but I liked the reggae

New Zealand is has a really great and varied music scene. Here are some of the best stuff in our most popular genres of music of recent times. I'm going to keep it relatively recent and mainstream (aside from the indy rock, of course).

REGGAE (In NZ is mix of roots, dub, jazz and soul)

INDY/FOLK ROCK (such a strong genre! Its sucks to limit to a few!)

    POP ROCK

    HIP HOP

Is it that by its indefiniteness it shadows forth the heartless voids and immensities of the universe, and thus stabs us from behind with the thought of annihilation, when beholding the white depths of the milky way?

Doesn't it defeat the apparant object of showcasing your own country's best indigenous music a bit if they need to be sung in English, and the country is not an English speaking one?

Yeah, if a song is good you don't need to understand the lyrics. Music is universal.
