What are your favorite lyrics by type? Lol.

So if you care to find me, look to the western skies. As someone told me lately,
everyone deserves a chance to fly. And If I'm flying solo, at least I'm flying free
to those who ground me, take a message back from me! Tell them how I am
defying gravity, I'm flying high defying gravity, and soon I'll match them in renown. And nobody in all of oz, no wizard that there is or was- is ever gonna
bring me down!

Ha.... Elphaba's no ENTJ, though...

"One day we will die
and our ashes will fly
from the aeroplane over the sea,
But for now we are young,
let us lay in the sun
and count every beautiful thing we can see
Love to be
How strange it is to be anything at alllllll"

I like music that has no vocals the best, but here is something I find myself laughing at:
French Time In the Sun Delight:newwink:

No one but the writer truly knows the lyerics, but I did my best to write them down. My username there is "ObeyBunny," same as it is here.

___
by type? I'd say that the music it self is "Exxx"

I don't really have favourite lyrics it all depends on the mood I'm in on a particular day. But recently I've been liking the lyrics of Tom's Diner by Suzanna Vega which I feel describes the INTP personality quite well:

I am sitting
In the morning
At the diner
On the corner

I am waiting
At the counter
For the man
To pour the coffee

And he fills it
Only halfway
And before
I even argue

He is looking
Out the window
At somebody
Coming in

"It is always
Nice to see you"
Says the man
Behind the counter

To the woman
Who has come in
She is shaking
Her umbrella

And I look
The other way
As they are kissing
Their hellos

I'm pretending
Not to see them
Instead
I pour the milk

I open
Up the paper
There's a story
Of an actor

Who had died
While he was drinking
It was no one
I had heard of

And I'm turning
To the horoscope
And looking
For the funnies

When I'm feeling
Someone watching me
And so
I raise my head

There's a woman
On the outside
Looking inside
Does she see me?

No she does not
Really see me
Cause she sees
Her own reflection

And I'm trying
Not to notice
That she's hitching
Up her skirt

And while she's
Straightening her stockings
Her hair
Has gotten wet

Oh, this rain
It will continue
Through the morning
As I'm listening

To the bells
Of the cathedral
I am thinking
Of your voice...

And of the midnight picnic
Once upon a time
Before the rain began...

I finish up my coffee
It's time to catch the train

Talking Shit About a Pretty Sunset

Oh noose tied myself in, tied myself too tight
Looking kind of anxious in your cross armed stance
Like a bad tempered prom queen at a homecoming dance
And I claim I’m not excited with my life any more
So I blame this town, this job, these friends
The truth is it’s myself
And I’m trying to understand myself
And pinpoint where I am
By the time I get things figured out
I’ve change the whole damn plan
Oh noose tied myself in, tied myself too tight
Talking shit about a pretty sunset
Blanketing opinions that I’ll probably reget soon
I’ve changed my mind so much I cant even trust it
My mind changed me so much I cant even trust myself

The current theme song for my obligatory twenty-something existential crisis.

Marillion - Misplaced Childhood

(esp like the bold bits)

brief encounter

A spider wanders aimlessly within the warmth of a shadow
Not the regal creature of border caves
But the poor, misguided, directionless familiar of some obscure scottish poet

The mist crawls from the canal
Like some primordial phantom of romance
To curl, under a cascade of neon pollen
While I sit tied to the phone like an expectant father
Your carnation will rot in a vase

B) lost weekend

A train sleeps in a siding
The driver guzzles another can of lager, lager
To wash away the memories of a friday night down at the club

She was a wallflower at sixteen, she’ll be a wallflower at thirty four
Her mother called her beautiful
Her daddy said, a whore

C) blue angel

The sky was Bible black in lyon, when I met the magdalene
She was paralyzed in a streetlight
She refused to give her name

And a ring of violet bruises
They were pinned upon her arm
Two hundred francs for sanctuary and she led me by the hand
To a room of dancing shadows where all the heartache disappears
And from glowing tongues of candles I heard her whisper in my ear
’j’entend ton coeur’, ’j’entend ton coeur’
I can hear your heart, I can hear your heart, I can hear your heart
Hear your heart
I hear your heart

I met a girl who sang the blues
And I asked her for some happy news,
But she just smiled and turned away.
I went down to the sacred store
Where I'd heard the music years before,
But the man there said the music wouldn't play.

And in the streets: the children screamed,
The lovers cried, and the poets dreamed.
But not a word was spoken;
The church bells all were broken.
And the three men I admire most:
The father, son, and the holy ghost,
They caught the last train for the coast
The day the music died.

Don't really have any favorite songs, but I like lyrics of this one .
I monster- Who is she

Oh who is she
A misty memory
A haunting face
Is she a lost embrace?

Am I in love with just a theme
Or is Aisha just dream
A mystery
Oh who is she

Oh who is she
A misty memory
A haunting face
Is she a lost embrace?

I call her name
Across an endless place
She'll answer me
Wherever she may be

Oh who is she
A misty memory
A haunting face
Is she a lost embrace?

Somewhere across the sea of time
A love immortal, such as mine
Will come to me
Eternally
Immortal she
Return to me

I don't have an all-time favorite, but lately I have come across the following that didn't quite make it into the 6th Harry Potter movie. I like this:

Carry my soul into the night
May the stars guide my way.
I glory in the sight
As darkness takes the day.

Ferte in noctem animam meam
Illustre stelle viam meam.
Aspectu illo glorior
Dum capit nox diem.

Cantate vitae canticum
Sine dolore acte
Dicite eis quos amabam
Numquam obliviscar

Sing a song, a song of life
Made without regret
Tell the ones, the ones I loved
I never will forget
Never will forget.

One tin soldier:

Listen, children, to a story
That was written long ago,
'Bout a kingdom on a mountain
And the valley-folk below.

On the mountain was a treasure
Buried deep beneath the stone,
And the valley-people swore
They'd have it for their very own.

Go ahead and hate your neighbor,
Go ahead and cheat a friend.
Do it in the name of Heaven,
You can justify it in the end.
There won't be any trumpets blowing
Come the judgement day,
On the bloody morning after....
One tin soldier rides away.

So the people of the valley
Sent a message up the hill,
Asking for the buried treasure,
Tons of gold for which they'd kill.

Came an answer from the kingdom,
"With our brothers we will share
All the secrets of our mountain,
All the riches buried there."

Go ahead and hate your neighbor,
Go ahead and cheat a friend.
Do it in the name of Heaven,
You can justify it in the end.
There won't be any trumpets blowing
Come the judgement day,
On the bloody morning after....
One tin soldier rides away.

Now the valley cried with anger,
"Mount your horses! Draw your sword!"
And they killed the mountain-people,
So they won their just reward.

Now they stood beside the treasure,
On the mountain, dark and red.
Turned the stone and looked beneath it...
"Peace on Earth" was all it said.

Go ahead and hate your neighbor,
Go ahead and cheat a friend.
Do it in the name of Heaven,
You can justify it in the end.
There won't be any trumpets blowing
Come the judgement day,
On the bloody morning after....
One tin soldier rides away.

Go ahead and hate your neighbor,
Go ahead and cheat a friend.
Do it in the name of Heaven,
You can justify it in the end.
There won't be any trumpets blowing
Come the judgement day,
On the bloody morning after....
One tin soldier rides away.

Call it surrender but you know that that's a joke
And the punchline is you were actually never in control
But still, surrender anyway

Pain
I guess it's a matter of sensation
But somehow you have a way of avoiding it all
In my mind
I have shot you and stabbed you through your heart
I just didn't understand
The ricochet is the second part
'Cause you can't hide what you intend
It glows in the dark
Once you've sought
The path of revenge
There's no way to stop
And the more I try to hurt you
The more it hurts me
Strange
It seems like a character mutation
Though I have all the means of bringing you fuckers down
I can't make myself
To destroy upon command
Somehow forgiveness lets the evil make the loss
No you can't hide what you intend
It glows in the dark
Once we've become the thing we dread
There's no way to stop
And the more I try to hurt you
The more it backfires
The more that it backfires

Walking through the city streets
Is it by mistake or design?
I feel so alone on a Friday night
Can you make it feel like home, if I tell you you're mine

Don’t be shy you learn to fly
And see the sun when day is done
If only you see

Just what you are beneath a star
That came to stay one rainy day
In autumn for free

Yes, be what you’ll be

In a little hilltop village, they gambled for my clothes
I bargained for salvation an’ they gave me a lethal dose
I offered up my innocence and got repaid with scorn
“Come in,” she said, “I’ll give you shelter from the storm”

Then take me disappearin' through the smoke rings of my mind,
Down the foggy ruins of time, far past the frozen leaves,
The haunted, frightened trees, out to the windy beach,
Far from the twisted reach of crazy sorrow.
Yes, to dance beneath the diamond sky with one hand waving free,
Silhouetted by the sea, circled by the circus sands,
With all memory and fate driven deep beneath the waves,
Let me forget about today until tomorrow.
