Man, I can't tell you how great it is to start a thread about music and have people post a bunch of videos most of which I'm familiar with and those that I'm not I can totally get into. It makes me feel less weird about my musical taste.

Here's Peter Gabriel and Hot Chip covering Vampire Weekend
"It feels so unnatural to sing your own name"

Good call on Can't Help Falling in Love, I was thinking about that one, too.

No version of "I Heard It Through The Grapevine" is better than the original, but there are a lot of very decent covers, as well. I particularly enjoy the reggae-punk version by The Slits.

I'll vote again for Rufus doing Hallelujah. He was covering Jeff Buckley, who was covering John Cale, who was covering Leonard Cohen.

Alternatively, I'd consider the Beatles covering the The Isley Brothers covering the Top Notes.

Dave Matthews Band does a nice cover of the Jimi Hendrix version of All Along the Watchtower.

Wow! The last post was last month. My apologies.

I don't know why I didn't bother doing a quick search.

I'm sure a mod can merge the threads

A fine choice, but IMO Nirvana's best covers by far were

and

and especially (first 5 seconds NSFW)

This one is kind of obscure...But a very talented young man from the UK, does a cover of one of my favorite American Singer/Songwriters. Sam Bisbee's "You Are Here"
