    Default Favorite Xmas movies...

Well, despite my hatred of Xmas, I still love movies (on a good day), so here's my list of favorite Xmas movies:

    • Die Hard
    • Lethal Weapon
    • Home Alone and Home Alone 2 (You really can't tell them apart.)
    • The Polar Express (A Xmas zombie movie.)
    • Scrooged (The Bill Murray adaptation.)
    • 1941 (Among Steven Spielberg's most underrated movies.)
    • Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas (Sadly, the MySpace scene kids make it really hard to enjoy this film's ingenuity.)
    • Gremlins

I would have put A Christmas Story up there, but since the damn movie is shown 24 hours a day on Xmas, it really gets old.

    The Muppet's Christmas Carol
    Frosty the Snowman
    The Grinch Who Stole Christmas
    It's a Wonderful Life

    In that order.

Christmas films are usually very irritating and overly cliché. I rarely enjoy watching them. But yes, Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas is another story, though. I revel in the pure fantasy and quirky artistic style.

My friends and I have an annual "Nightmare Before Christmas" Christmas party. It's a good excuse to wear costumes and use halloween decorations again. >D And it is a wonderful movie.

    I also like:
Jack Frost (the classic animated one)
The Year Without a Santa Claus
    The Muppet's Christmas Carol
    and
Santa's Slay (a wonderfully awful movie with Bill Goldberg as a serial killer. )

"Bad Santa". Is hands down my favorite. There is something so dark and yet so redemptive about it. And I love the "f*** me Santa!" scene. No wait, I love even more the carved wooden pickle.

And I will never ever say, "A Christmas Story". I tried watching it once on a tip from a friend; I couldn't get through it... definitely not an NF movie.

Aside from that, I like the usual suspects - "It's a Wonderful Life" etc.

Oh, and the only "Grinch" version I watch is the original made for TV cartoon with Boris Karloff's voice-over. I will never watch Opie's movie version... the trailers looked, just... yuck.

    "It's A Wonderful Life"
    "Miracle On Thirty-Fourth Street"
    "A Christmas Story"
And...the original "How The Grinch Stole Christmas".

And one that for the life of me I can't think of right now...be right back.

Oh yes, and who could forget Black Christmas? (No, I'm not referring to Kwanzaa -- and that was not a racial slur, it was wordplay.)
