Mot juste (mo zhüst) Exactly the right word or expression. [French : mot, word + juste, right.]

I've fantasized about this thread for years. A place to go for help when we can't find the perfect word for our sentences. I know I'm not the only one. Ready? I'll start. Also, please embolden your questions so we can scroll through the thread with greater...something.

"It was more a request for evidence, but historically, the Nobel prize is not given to tyrants and frauds. It's not proof that the Dalai Lama is a noble person, but it's an indication that, at the very least, creates a presumption of ____________."

Moral uprightness? Moral upstanding? I'm looking for one word. :steam:

Integrity was the best, but it still didn't hit the spot.

Edit: Good news. I looked up synonyms for "uprightness," but only for an entry for "upright." "Erect" popped up as one of the choices, and after transforming it into a noun, believe I have located the mot juste:

It was more a request for evidence, but historically, the Nobel prize is not given to tyrants and frauds. It's not proof that the Dalai Lama is a noble person, but it's an indication that, at the very least, creates a presumption of moral erection.

Did you mean moral erectness in which case rectitude from Disregard would make the most sense.

No, I'm pretty sure "moral erection" was it.

"Damn, that speech was amazing! It gave me a moral erection."
