The Smashing Pumpkins - Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness (Even though the album as a whole really isn't that good, the intro is amazing)
    King Crimson - Red
    Mastodon - Oblivion
Fates Warning - Disconnected Part I(especially if you've listened to the entire album in full, which also gets my award for best Outro)

If only they'd taken the best tracks from each disc and made a normal length album, it could have been extraordinary.

As it is it suffers from typical double album syndrome.

I don't know if it would have flowed as well in a single album format, but it is too long and larded with filler. If you look at a lot of double albums, they wouldn't really work right if they were just a single album.

    Anything by the Beach Boys.

Let's test it against everything it could be applied to:
    My life? Check.
    A Chick Flick? Check.
    A Horror film? Check.
    A satire? Check.
    A commercial? Check.

The Guillotine part II - Escape The Fate
A falling star fell from your heart and landed in my eyes,
I screamed aloud, as it tore through them,
and now it's left me blind...
