I just recall their classic hit.
I had forgotten all about that one. I need to learn how to break dance.

i work with kids in an anti-gang program who listen to a lot of gangsta rap. i try to work them away from it to more positive music. i've found that positive music does promote positive thinking. i believe in music to develop a positive mentality, to open up and connect with parts of you that are there but unnoticed, that are buried deep.
    Good for you.

music with a negative message has a caustic effect on people, maybe gradually and subtly, but i do think it can be corruptive.
I suppose this is true to a degree.

How one takes things and relates is completely dependent upon the individual.

Some might listen to said, supposed negative music, relate and feel relieved to know that they're not the only ones going through the same sort of struggle.

On the other hand it could very well cause the adverse effect as you said, "throw up bigger walls, more anger and distance", and whomever may just feel the anger because it's easier than feeling the hurt.

    So do you, apparently.

You were the one who had listened to the Miles Davis' album all the way through.
