I listen to a lot of political music, so it was hard for me to choose a few. Sorry if I posted too many. Hope you like some (or all) of them.

As for "conservative" political songs that are actually good, there are a few. They usually tend toward the libertarian/"live and let live" side, as opposed to the more religious or nationalist side. Rush, for instance, are major Ayn Rand fans. I like a lot of their tunes. "Taxman" by The Beatles is a great anti-income tax song. How about Oingo Boingo's "Capitalism?" The song more satirizes left-wing intellectuals than it celebrates the free market, but the sentiment is certainly there.

There were some truly AWFUL anti-Bush songs the past eight years, but a few were really good. This is my favorite.

Agnostic Front were one of the few flag-waving hardcore/punk bands of the '80s. "Public Assistance" is a song about how the working man resents those living off welfare.

Merle Haggard was the most eloquent right-wing populist in country music.

Great song about being an individual both in thought and in action, even when the world is telling you that mediocre conformity is the way to be.

Dude, "Okie from Muskogee" was about as ironic as a song got. For one, Merle smoked more pot than a Rastafarian convention.

Oh, yeah. He wanted to write a song expressing the viewpoint of people from his area. He was a Dubya supporter, though. He's a pretty conservative guy in a lot of ways.
