    Default Best Movie Soundtracks/Scores

I saw Lust, Caution earlier this week and I am LOVING the score. I think the music in this film matches and sets the tone extremely well.

Any suggestions for other good soundtracks?
Relationships have normal ebbs and flows. They do not automatically get better and better when the participants learn more and more about each other. Instead, the participants have to work through the tensions of the relationship (the dialectic) while they learn and group themselves and a parties in a relationships. At times the relationships is very open and sharing. Other time, one or both parties to the relationship need their space, or have other concerns, and the relationship is less open. The theory posits that these cycles occur throughout the life of the relationship as the persons try to balance their needs for privacy and open relationship.

    Matrix movies

(I tend to like soundtracks a lot, so am having a hard time thinking of ones that other people would enjoy outside of the movie.)

I was going to suggest these and thought people would just laugh about it.

Don Davis is utterly amazing, in regards to the unconventional score (especially the music in "The Matrix Revolutions" -- that was unfortunately probably the BEST part of that movie!)... and even the "commercial soundtrack" for Reloaded wasn't bad.

And of course, the theme is a classic example of creating a recognizable piece out of an atonal melody... neat (!).

Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard have done some nice soundtracks as well. (Zimmer is very versatile.)

Another evocative composer is David Julyan, who has done all the soundtracks (or close to them) for director Christopher Nolan (Memento, The Prestige, etc.) as well as the background music (creepy stuff) for "The Descent."

I also liked "The Nightmare Before Christmas" soundtrack -- and the early Ashman/Menken broadway style music (Little Shop of Horrors, and the rebirth of Disney).

"The Incredibles" soundtrack was good as well.

“There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.”
