'One of (Lucas) Cranach's masterpieces, discussed by (Joseph) Koerner, is in it's self-referentiality the perfect expression of left-hemisphere emptiness and a precursor of post-modernism. There is no longer anything to point to beyond, nothing Other, so it points pointlessly to itself.' - Iain McGilChrist

Suppose a tree fell down, Pooh, when we were underneath it?"
"Suppose it didn't," said Pooh, after careful thought.
    Piglet was comforted by this.
    - A.A. Milne.

He was a man born into the world to shake the nations, the scourge of all lands, who in some way terrified all mankind by the dreadful rumors noised abroad concerning him. He was haughty in his walk, rolling his eyes hither and thither, so that the power of his proud spirit appeared in the movement of his body. He was indeed a lover of war, yet restrained in action, mighty in counsel, gracious to suppliants and lenient to those who were once received into his protection. He was short of stature, with a broad chest and a large head; his eyes were small, his beard thin and sprinkled with gray; and he had a flat nose and a swarthy complexion, showing the evidences of his origin. - Jordanes.

Attila: Total War has an excellent soundtrack. Several of the pieces include Tuvan throat singing, making it an awesome and unique experience. My top three:

First, the menu music sets the mood.

Second, ambient music from the campaign map.

    Third, battle music.

Anyone else remember the Chrono Cross opening theme? I loved that.

I also loved "Vamo Alla Flamenco" from FFIX. (Although I got sick of hearing it after playing that frigging Chocobo game eight million times.)

And I can't forget the "Gerudo Valley" theme from Ocarina of Time. I love this guy's acoustic guitar version.

HM HM HM HM HM THIS IS DIFFICULT! D:

Okay I'll just choose 2 random themes that I am greatly fond of, not necessarily my favourite. One happy and one melancholic just to balance the mood:

Since I couldn't find the remix by Yarrow Whitfield (which greatly depresses me), I'll stick to the original, which is hauntingly beautiful regardless. Why did Lisa have to die?
