    The first movement of Steve Reich's City Life is more synthetic at the same it's more academic, but the principle of erasing lines between music and noise is a shared one.

    Ever come across overtone (or "throat") singing? The Central Asian variants seem particularly well developed, so here's a clip (I love the atmosphere of this video, btw)
