I am certain that Bret is. Jemaine's E vs. I is pretty close, I think, as is Bret's S vs. N. IxFP for Bret.
Who wants to try a bottle of merc's "Extroversion Olive Oil?"

^ That might be the closest I've seen them to being out of character.

    - When they answer most of the questions, they respond to the implied questions rather than the questions themselves.

    - Listen to the way Bret responds to the question about their popularity. You can almost see his N wandering around. I watched that interview with an S friend, and he felt like his answer had nothing to do with the question he was asked.

    - Contrast them with the third producer, James Bobin. He follows a clear, linear S path of thought.

    - There's a reason there are stereotypes about INxx being awkward. Come on ... Jemaine could not possibly be anything else.

I don't have any more specific thoughts other than Jemaine = INxx /Bret = xNxP.
Haha, you ascribe some pretty arbitrary stuff to N, they were being playful with the implied meanings of the questions, being playful is hardly exclusive, or even typical of Ns. Linear S line of thought? Haha! Most NTs have a much more linear line of thought than I'll ever have, I for example am an Fi dom, with Se and tertiary Ni, my mind bounces all over the place "linear lines of thought" are the last thing on the mind of this S. Awkward? Any type can be awkward, I'm socially very awkward, there are Ss who are physically awkward.

I think you're thinking of type as too black and white, you're disregarding tertiary functions and different patterns of development. Sorry to dump this on you, it's not really targeted at you, I'm just tired of people thinking of all Ss as a very simplistic version of SJ.

But you're not giving any specific reasons why you think they're S's.

maliafee has offered evidence. The set design thing turned out not to be valid, but Jemaine's style of dress is still on the table.

Why specifically do you think they are S's and not Ns? (emphasis on why they aren't N's)

You know you're right. I'm forever getting in trouble for answering implied questions. Moving laterally with the question in my head.

And before this comes up, I do not consider "S until proven N" to be valid here. They have one of the most innovative shows on television. Why would the automatic assumption be for them to be S's?

Given that the OP wanted us to type Murray as well suggests that the purpose of the thread is to type the characters not the actors/writers. I fully believe that they are Ns in true life but I'm staying with ISFP and ISTP, respectively, for Bret and Jemaine.
Why do we always come here?

    I guess we'll never know.

It's like a kind of torture,
To have to watch this show.

    Well, yeah.

My post wasn't in response to the OP, but a response to the response to my saying "The real people are obviously Ns."

I think the characters are probably ISTx and INFP. ... I'd say ISFP, but he seems incredibly out of touch with reality. IxFP, then?

I don't think they're Ss, well I'm not really sure I think Bret might be ISFP and Jermaine _NTP.

I'm just questioning the thought process of saying there is no possibility of them being Ss.

I think it's a good rule, particularly around here where people seem to get N fever, so being innovative rules out Ss?

Innovation does not rule out S's, but they are obviously reluctant to try things in a new way. If they weren't inclined this way, they wouldn't be S's.
