It's sometimes interesting to learn about behind the scenes information relative to various creations we admire.

In movies -

( 1. ) The movie "Psycho" has a scene where the woman fleeing with the money ( Jamie Lee Curtis' mom ) has a policeman pull her over and interrogate her. A writer had suggested that the cop try to "pick her up", but Hitchcock vetoed it. I thought of other changes that could have been made to the movie that might have taken it off in an interesting direction.

( 2. ) There were a lot of things that almost came to pass in the "Wizard of Oz" movie, which were ultimately discarded for one reason or another. For example, Dorothy and her companions were slated to disguise themselves as circus performers, and attempt to rouse the people up against the Wicked Witch of the West, after their encounter with the Wizard. The witch herself was going to form a large army of wolves, soldiers and winged monkeys to destroy the wizard and set her son Bulbo up in his place. Bulbo was the intended groom for a girl named Sylvia, whom the witch had captured in order to put the two together. A prince named Florizel had been transformed into the Cowardly Lion by Bulbo's Mom because he had been interested in Sylvia himself. Back in Kansas, Professor Marvel had previously been named Dr. Pink, and Dr. Miffle. One writer had given him a dwarf assistant. Another had given him a caged lion, in the spirit of Oz having different versions of similar things in Kansas. Miss Gulch was Mrs. Gulch, and she had an obnoxious son named Walter. Having the Wicked Witch of the East die was originally deemed too nasty for kids to see, and so she was going to be transformed into a parrot or cat instead. ( Try pulling some tiny red slippers off of a cat's paws ! If you succeed, however, you end up with an extra pair...;) )

Have you heard of any variations yourself ? ( They don't have to be movies. ) Would you think these variations would have been improvements ?

Have you ever played traditional games and then changed the rules for fun ? Were they improvements on the regular game ?

I once envisioned that the prequels to the original Star Wars movies wouldn't suck an abundance of ass. Only in dreams though, only in dreams. :(

What kinds of scenes and personalities did you hope to see there in your own imagined version ?
