I'm pretty particular as to what I like, and in general don't like modern art at all (although there are always exceptions). I can appreciate a wide variety on an intellectual and creative level...just would never ever buy most stuff or hang it in my house. I'm mostly about colors and aesthetics, and everything just kinda flowing.

I like Degas a lot. And Monet, but others have already posted several Monet ones in here.

I also like the American Romantic Landscape painters. Cole, Church, and Bierstadt mostly.

Picasso - Science and Charity

Hooper - New York Movie

Love how Hooper always "casts" solitary figures in large empty environments.

Dali - The Elephants

Rockwell - The Road Block

Goya - The Shootings of May 3, 1808

I tend to be influenced by Spanish artists, much more depth than the French, imo.

For me, the favorites are Salvador Dalí and Francisco Goya.

Goya's "Witches Sabbath", 1798

and "Dog"

I've seen them both when I was in Spain and I was just amazed by them and by Goya's art in general.
