Okay these are insanely bad, I wrote them forever ago. But I thought, what the heck?

Labels
Nothing, everything
Simultaneous
Parallels run deep
Never to meet

Gone
Morbid faces
in smiling places
oh how I wish to be
gone

Child
Hue of thought
blows the value of emotion
through clouds of silk
view the rose
emancipate the laughter
experience the word,
and read the picture
memories of a dream
behold the fall of the will
sun shall rain through
the child

(for Ragashree)

-elevation-

I stood on mountain peak,
to watch perspective leak
into distance,
to feel roam-weary feet, pushing home
while ground pulled apart.

I took a leap,
into an unknown field,
and found I'd been asleep
to what was truly beautiful.

While veins had ached
to taste freedom,
I'd watered down my paint,
shut myself away,
to thinly hide the questions and the grief
behind a mask of nonchalance.

To take a chance,
to rise above the veil of circumstance;
to seize a bird-eyed view;
a soaring eagle, in a cloudless blue.

To fly, to see
the patchwork of my life;
how stitches tied me to the hopes and dreams
of generations.

To sleep, to die, seemed
for the first time, more
than the dilation of a full-closed eye-
to know,
I'd miss the sky.

This morning I thought I saw you
Heading precisely where I was heading
At precisely the same moment
I averted my glance, entered the market
And made a bee-line for the bathroom

Cheeks flushing, I washed my clean hands
The door opened behind me
And in the mirror our eyes locked
Despite my initial attempt to hide
My heart sunk at the realisation that it was not you

They say that you don't know what you have until it's gone
And in that vein,
I think you don't know the degree
To which your subconscious has longed
Until you meet again

I now know what I've always thought you meant to me

Nostalgia

Cuando tu me hablabas de amor,
toda mi vida se pintó de otro color,
trampas tan dulces como la miel
en las que me hiciste caer.

Tus palabras me hicieron llorar
de las cuales me despertaron el deseo de amar,
recuerdo los momentos de discusión
en los cuales terminaba en un beso de eterna pasión.

Horas que juntos pasamos,
fueron horas a las que quiero que volvamos,
ahora todo es diferente... Tu no estás,

Quiero estar contigo.

/Te extraño...

crystal world

this crystal world
is a binary world;
first we live
in the peaks of the snow white sky,
and then we're drowning
under frozen stagnant waves.

our bodies thin while we
whirl in the sky
blissfully,
and then our bliss is
broken, and our
stone bodies
stagger and fall
to the bottom of the ocean,

and there we sleep,
at last.

the ice in the morning
wakes us up,

and we begin
to float again.

Heh, I wrote this a looong time ago..

I was on my way yesterday.
See you later, manipulator..
But moving on just takes too long,
so again I'm back
for that heart attack.

I think I was trying to write lyrics.

Am I playing for the past,
or for the future?
Diplomacy creates
some great illusion.

And within it I am safe,
I am free, I feel proud
that I might actually be
a good person.

It is not the worst lie
I could create;
confusing mediocrity
with being something great.

A boosting of the ego;
calculated or innate.
I still believe
my mind has seen
a better state.

I'll never dream again
of days without love,
of times when we came here
driven only by lust.

I'll never chase a gaze
in hope that we'll make
love without finding
a way to connect.

I'd forgotten conversations,
those quiet nights alone,
when we looked to the heavens,
and knew there was more.

When we didn't just become
cold, and caught up
in pointlessly chasing
the views of the world.

We hold our hopes
for but one dream:
that man may be eternal.

That we'll meet again,
in some strange place,
beyond the realms we know.

And troubles passed
between us in
these days of endless toil

will fade to leave
us free again
to never be alone.

Take a knife,
and slice my throat,
before I choke
on hypocrisy.

Yeah, do it quick,
and do me in,
before I suff-
ocate on greed.

Hold my hand
while I try to stand
under the weight
of politics.

Give me cause
to die before
I fight another
war for peace.

Walking through the cemetery...
what divides bad from good?
What justifies
this loss of life,
when no revenge is sweet?

I watch her walk.
I watch her cry,
search for meaning
in it all.

And I judge her as
I close my eyes,
and keep to my ideals.

I am resurrecting this thread!

The day when she replied,
she'd almost faded from my mind.
I had put aside my longings
and got on with life.

Her room in my heart
had shrunk to a small compartment,
barely holding enough space to spark a fire.

I sat quietly in the lounge
admiring my surroundings,
pondering her words
and the futures they might hold.

My heart no longer frail,
no longer open to the pain,
trapped in a compartment
full of hope.

the difference between zero and the infinite is minimal
any positive can be defined by its negative opposite
man by woman, death by life, day by night,
a yin yang hypothesis for the myriad ways of life

the universe within me, the universe without,
marks a difference only in perspective

holographic in its principles, fractal in its design,
a puzzle containing an infinite amount of pieces,
where each piece contains the universal equation

"the everything in every thing"

to understand the ways of one thing is to understand the ways of the world,
to know yourself is to know the essence of every man

the difference between zero and the infinite is one.

`
`

I like this as one of the best in the thread. Maybe because its 'impersonalness' :) How you conclude the sentence "a yin yang hypothesis for the myriad ways of life" to the former three is a style I like.

But, I haven't read through all, mostly scanned it. How to get through the mass of all poems? I also have several poet's collections at home, reading selectively through them.

Let's see what I can post...
Haven't had my eyes on this one for a while:

Elemental Phenomenon

the yellow evening sky
fulfills all wishes
and creates none
what do I write
it’s nearly gone!

now it’s only a little red
the sun’s fiery glow
behind his cooler creations
fading now into the west

now it’s a vague pink
dissolving among the clouds
the cooler phenomena stand out
it sinks and sinks
folding beyond the horizon

any moment now it can be gone
the cooler parts have to keep warm
until to the adjacent horizon
the sun orients himself again at dawn

This isn't one of my poems, my poems are posted on my blog, but this one is one of my favorites. It's written by Thom Yorke and was included on the album OK Computer by Radiohead.

Fitter, happier, more productive,
comfortable,
not drinking too much,
regular exercise at the gym
(3 days a week),
getting on better with your associate employee contemporaries,
at ease,
eating well
(no more microwave dinners and saturated fats),
a patient better driver,
a safer car
(baby smiling in back seat),
sleeping well
(no bad dreams),
no paranoia,
careful to all animals
(never washing spiders down the plughole),
keep in contact with old friends
(enjoy a drink now and then),
will frequently check credit at (moral) bank (hole in the wall),
favors for favors,
fond but not in love,
charity standing orders,
on Sundays ring road supermarket
(no killing moths or putting boiling water on the ants),
car wash
(also on Sundays),
no longer afraid of the dark or midday shadows
nothing so ridiculously teenage and desperate,
nothing so childish - at a better pace,
slower and more calculated,
no chance of escape,
now self-employed,
concerned (but powerless),
an empowered and informed member of society
(pragmatism not idealism),
will not cry in public,
less chance of illness,
tires that grip in the wet
(shot of baby strapped in back seat),
a good memory,
still cries at a good film,
still kisses with saliva,
no longer empty and frantic like a cat tied to a stick,
that's driven into frozen winter shit
(the ability to laugh at weakness),
calm,
fitter,
healthier and more productive
a pig in a cage on antibiotics.

These are great, I love reading poetry. I must also say Thom Yorke is amazing. Here's something short I wrote a while ago.

The Ocean rumbles
cracking the rocks together on shore
confusing the sand.
Lightening splits the water -
The wondering sea, chaotic in beauty, faithless, harassed
Or the loving sea, the one you float on, the one that takes you home.
Poorly veiled and mostly happy
The waves crash with questions
Why do you love?
The mist sweeps the questions back to sea unanswered.

^ You write fantastic poetry. I like how you write about the ocean, which I do quite a bit with my poetry as well. I like your poetry a whole lot because, unlike mine, yours has some cohesiveness, while mind are just phrases plucked out of thin air and thrown together that flow as poetry. I guess it's just different style ;)
