    Work of Christmas Begins

When the song of the angels is stilled,
when the star in the sky is gone,
when the kings and princes are home,
when the shepherds are back with the flocks,
then the work of Christmas begins:
    to find the lost,
to heal those broken in spirit,
    to feed the hungry,
    to release the oppressed,
    to rebuild the nations,
to bring peace among all peoples,
to make a little music with the heart…

And to radiate the Light of Christ,
every day, in every way, in all that we do and in all that we say.
Then the work of Christmas begins.

    A significant symbol of Christmas
    Is the Simple Candy Cane.
It's shape is the crook of the Shepherd
One of the first who came.

    The lively peppermint flavor is
    The regal gift of spice.
    The White is Jesus' purity.
    The Red is sacrifice.
    The narrow stripes are friendship.
And the nearness of his love.
    Eternal, Sweet Compassion
    A gift from God above.

The Candy Cane reminds us all
    of how much God cared.
And like His Christmas gift to us
It's meant to be broken and shared.

Dearest, I never knew such loving. There
in that glass tower in the alien city, alone,
we found what somewhere i had always known
exists and must exist, this fervent care,
this lust of tenderness. Two were aware
how in hot seizure, bone pressed to bone
and liquid flesh to flesh, each separate moan
was pleasure, yes, but most in the other's share.
Companions and discoverers, equal and free,
so deep in love we adventured and so far
and now being home is hardship. Therefore are we
diminished? No. We are of the world again
but still augmented, more than we've ever been.

A sleepwalking pair of twilight kids
    Their breath shimmering like halos
    Bought the village with their
    Crimson high last night.
    Now, the avenue is split
    Half soldiers-
    Half demons
    A lucky few still sleeping.
And I, striking matches with all the
fans pointed at me like cannonball fire
    Care far too little
    Which one I will become.

    I wish
    I were a fish
    Unaware of life
    Outside the sea

    I would be free
    If I could not see
    The world that I do
    Inside of me

    I like that...

Something tells me you've got your wish though. We may not be fish, but your wish is true.
