How important is extracurricular activity, job experience etc. for admission?
I see a lot of people around me (my major is practically pre-law) worrying about things like this...but I remember them doing so in high school too and it turned out to be pretty much worthless.

Gawd, why would you want to got law school?
They suck the soul out of you! Or in one of my friends words, "It's a soul crushing experience. You couldn't do it CzeCze." LOL Too many people go to law school as a default. That's one expensive, time consuming, energy draining default! Wouldn't you rather do what the hippies do and go backpacking in Europe or make at pilgrammage to Tibet or delouse starving children somewhere with the Peace Corps? Wait...wait...I just realized I'm talking to one of the Brotherhood and pictures of guns flashed in my head and LOL ![]() Nah, law school's probably a better fit for you.

It's important, but it's not that important. I really comes down to GPA and LSAT's. On the other hand, it also depends on what schools you're applying to. Overall, it comes in
3rd behind GPA and LSAT scores, it obviously doesn't hurt to have extracurricular's on the resume as well as something to talk about in your personal statement. But also, it depends on how high your GPA and LSAT's are. As far as your major being "practically prelaw," if you do end up going, you'll find that there really is no such thing. Nothing in undergrad comes close to what you'll be dealing with in law school and you'll have classes with people from all undergraduate backgrounds. Trust me, I thought the same thing going in with my poli sci and history degree, but when I got there, I found that there was very little overlap. It's just a totally different way of learning.

Focus on your grades and your LSAT. How important your extracurriculars are depends on where you're applying. If it's an ultra-competitive school, they'll matter much more. They have to choose from the pool of applicants whose numbers are similar somehow!
