I liked the jobs where I got to help people directly... and disliked the jobs where there was a lot of BS from management.
I really thought I would love marine bio but turns out I'm not into cutthroat academic research, that totally turned me off. Plus it was a lot of solitary, loooonngggg physical and tiny-scale work. Art therapy ended up sucking because most of the patients were very debilitated, and many of them had zero interest in doing the activities I was told to do with them - I remember one particular day where I had a bunch of markers and I was supposed to have them draw. One man had little hand control so he just reluctantly put dots on a sheet of paper because he was supposed to. I left that day and never came back. Being a professional artist is fun but not as satisfying as I'd hoped, and I get really stressed out by trying to make the work perfect. I think my favorite job so far has been the equine therapy. It was fun being around kids all day, I really enjoyed helping them directly, it was a lot of physical freedom, I had great camaraderie with the rest of the staff, and I loved occasionally getting to ride at the end of the day!
