The whole point of MBTI for me is to give me better insights in to my natural strengths so that I can wield them more effectively. Secondly, to help me better understand my natural weaknesses so that I can look for those strengths in other people. It relieves me of having to be good at something I'm not while at the same time valuing those strengths in others. For instance, in a group I would actively seek out Sarah to shore up my S and my F. (Does this make me an ENTJ???). This strategy has been very helpful in helping me to become more balanced.
My view: you don't get a pass on being an a**hole because of your MBTI type and if you think your MBTI type gives you that pass, then you don't get MBTI.
